Shaughnessy Elementary PAC
What is the PAC?
PAC is the Parental Advisory Council. PAC advocates for excellence in education, the safety and well-being of our students, and for the effective and meaningful involvement of parents as partners.
PAC's role is to support, encourage, and improve the quality of education and the well-being of students. Parent involvement is encouraged, appreciated, and is an integral component of our school culture. Under the School Act, all parents and guardians of students registered at Shaughnessy Elementary are voting members of the PAC. The Shaughnessy PAC has a wonderful tradition of supporting the school through the Direct Donation Campaign at the beginning of the school year and the Hot Lunch Program.
What we do
Special events and programs, book fairs, yearbook, garden, and the hot lunch program are just a few of the things your PAC is involved with at Shaughnessy Elementary. PAC connects parents with guest speakers and information, and encourages parent involvement to build a sense of community within the school. PAC meetings are held once a month from October to May and are for planning, learning, communicating, and voting to keep everything moving throughout the year. It is a great opportunity to meet other parents and school administration to discuss all things related to our school.
