International Cuisine Luncheon, is back!!
The event will be held on Friday March 6th, 2026.
The event is an amazing school-wide Potluck lunch that all our families are invited to participate in. We are asking EACH child attending Shaughnessy to supply one dish. The item should be enough to feed at least 10 people. The items will be placed on tables provided in the hallway on each floor of the school. Your child will only be sampling food on the floor that their class room is located.
Please supply utensils with your dish if required. Please ensure ALL your items are LABELLED with your Child’s name and Division number. This is VERY important! If there is no label, your supplied dishes and utensil will not make it back home. If your container is disposable it will be disposed of.
It is so exciting for the students to learn about the food and what country it comes from, so any written information about your dish is a wonderful addition. Please have this information provided so that we can display it next to your dish. Having the ingredients listed is also an added benefit for those with food allergies.
Food for the event can be brought to school with your child in the morning as long as it will stay food safe without being heated or cooled. The item/dish will be kept in your child's class room until setup time begins. If your dish needs to stay cool/warm, you can bring your dish to the front entrance of the school at 11:30am. If you would like to stay and volunteer at this point please do so.
We also need more volunteers. We would love to have parents help set-up around 11:30am. The students will be eating around 12:10pm. We also need parents to help with serving the food on the tables, as well as monitoring the classrooms from ~12:10pm to 1:00pm. Help with cleanup would also be appreciated. This would be from ~1:00pm to 2:00pm. If you can help with all of these time frames — or even just one of the time frames — your help would be greatly appreciated.
The best part of volunteering is after the students have filled their bellies; the parents and teachers are able to walk around on all 3 floors and sample the delicious food before clean up begins. From personal experience, you don’t want to miss this part! The dishes that everyone provides are amazing so please remember to bring your own plate and utensil to sample the food, and if you would like to bring a container to take home leftovers please feel free to do so. There is always lots of variety and food left over.
**Please also have your child come to school with a plates and utensils to eat with, and remember NO NUTS. NO SHELLFISH. NO CANDY. NO CHIPS. NO POP**
Thank you every one for making this event so fun and delicious. If you have any questions please email Natalie at spadaforanatalie@hotmail.com
